Grow Your Brand Or Go Out Of Business. What We Discovered About Facebook That Will Help You Stand Out

In February, we talked a lot about growth. We will like to wrap the series up with a discovery we made on Facebook, the number one social media channel used in 129 out of 137 countries in the world.

Facebook despite the outrageous competition, has been able to keep its head above the waters and retain its position as the top social media channel in the world. Certainly, this article will inspire you to become a growth-oriented individual as well as help you stay ahead of your contemporaries.

When social media took a different turn at the launch of the 20th century, it was obvious that interaction was going to take a new phase. Everything was going to change. From the way we communicate and connect to the way we do business and make money.

Since then, several social media sites have come and after a while disappeared for one reason or the other. Some of them were sought-after and widely-accepted when they first launched. However, after a while, newer channels sent them out of business.

You are likely to be familiar with some of these channels that could not keep up and had to bow to their competitors who could. Many of them are still existing but are not doing so well.
This has begged the question, how does Facebook continue to maintain its spot at the top of the radar since its inception in February 2004?

There could be many reasons for this but here’s one of the most important one we discovered. “Facebook keeps improving”! Month after month, Facebook introduces new features and releases new algorithms that make the channel more interactive, interesting and easier to use. You just can’t get enough of them.

After 14 solid years of successful operations and being at the top, Mark Zuckerberg, the Founder, and CEO of Facebook still seeks to improve his site. In a post published on his profile January 11, 2018, at 4:28 pm (PST) Mark writes:

“We’re making a major change to how we build Facebook. I’m changing the goal I give our product teams. From focusing on helping you find relevant content to helping you have more meaningful social interactions.
As we roll this out, you’ll see less public content like posts from businesses, brands, and media. And the public content you see more will be held to the same standard — it should encourage meaningful interactions between people. If we do the right thing, I believe that will be good for our community and our business over the long term too.”

No wonder they keep thriving and making more money every day.

We know what happened to some of their other contemporaries, whose sites after a while became boring with nothing new, nothing fancy. They run out of business.

That’s an important lesson you should never forget in life. Every day, you should take actions that will improve your life and business.

Find ways to do things better. Try new things. Explore. Read wide, research and reinvent yourself. Create a better version of you, your business and/or your products.

This is not some kind of rehearsal, this is the real deal…you only live once, and if you do it well, once should be enough! So make intentional growth your priority in 2018 and picture how your life and business will turn out.
